๐ Cyrus and Isaiah’s Prophecy
The Hebrew prophet Isaiah, writing around 700 BCE, explicitly named Cyrus as God’s chosen instrument nearly 150–200 years before his birth.
After Cyrus conquered Babylon in 539 BCE, Jewish leaders presented him with this prophecy. Historical tradition records that Cyrus recognized himself in the text and accepted his role.
The prophecy declares that Cyrus would:
